Good thing a majority of you are off tomorrow – not the prestigious schools in Norther Western BC – anyway may be slipping and sliding tomorrow morning as we have a cold air damming)CAD- exactly what I teach!!) issue where cold air denser than warm settles in and is harder to erode as the precipitation runs over the top of this cold air at the surface. The map pinkish shaded areas have a freezing rain advisory up – could very well delay school openings in these areas YIPPEEEE!!

Update to be out tomorrow evening if not sooner as to the incoming arctic blast with multiple snow chances – light to moderate to possible bigger. Thursday to Friday and again Sunday into Monday.
Lastly, a west based El Nino is being predicted for 2017-18 winter – with solar minimum and high latitude volcanic activity we could see a 2009-10 type of winter possibly greater – 7 plus weeks of winter with much above normal snowfall and below temps. zi know I know we have not even reached the depths of this winter yet.
Dec temps were .8 degrees above normal and how about those snow squalls Friday and New Years day early morning – 12:30- 1:15 SLEET AND SNOW !!

N to BN by .5 – 2 degrees possibly (arctic blast?)- had two arctic blasts but missed BN call
Snow – Above Normal – (5-8”) not too shaby off by a smidge for my local at the low end but some locals in NNJ blew this away with 8-12″
Be careful in the morning between 7am and 10 am for most NNJ areas in the freezing rain advisory and updates to come.
