Peeps,
Pro TV mets are finally catching on to what I told yas a week ago basically well Sunday LOL feels like a week though.
This winter storm is going to catch many by surprise , the low-level cold air is there and the storm is incoming faster now – by 3PM it should be in the NYC Metro area and you know what that means – a disastrous rush hour commute home!!! People are nitwits driving on dry pavement and ramp up their intellectual shortcomings when it rains and then fall off the cliff when it snows, mark my words.
We are seeing the NAM models lead the way once again with the position of the storm and the precipitations – yes plural – Snow, sleet, freezing rain then rain for the NYC Metro – with 1-3″ of snow and then about .10 – .25 of sleet and about a glazing of zr then rain.
N&W sees a good 3-5″ of snow then sleet and freezing rain and maybe not going over to rain, then maybe back to a wintry mix as the storm pulls away. IT could turn into an old-fashioned ice storm after the snow – could so get the generator primed if you have one
Maps please – again dont take these for all snow – if it were I’d be sounding my general quarters alarm!! Cut these maps by a 1/3 for they account for sleet and freezing rain as snow.
Storm shifted about 75 miles more SOUTH which = colder solution and more wintry precipitation = snow, sleet and zr!!
From 33& Rain these maps and from my boy Billy at NSFwx
So it starts Thursday around 3PM earlier from SW to NE in orientation – closer to 1PM in SW NJ
SNOW 1-3 NYC Metro, sleet the zr and the rain
N&W (25miles) 3-5″ sleet and zr =.25″
FAR N & W – ruburbs 3-6″ and sleet and zr = .25″
Thursday commute = disaster
Friday morning = yellow flag – caution
Massive Scandinavian block like winter of 95-96 and we can see many effects to our weather – another storm signal 11-26-28 and then again 12/1-3rd
Have a great night and updates to ocme in the morning and possible afternoon if it garnishes any changes to my call above.
