Winter Recap

Peeps, It has been 7 weeks since I last wrote and well February did not turn out the way the maps were trending or showing. Th emodels were horrible this winter. I am glad we spend billions on these technology machines that can’t predict weather within 24 hours of it happening. Almost all the storms slipped to our South and East and others just did not have enough moisture. The two jet streams never danced this winter leaving us with the northern branch all winter long for cold, dry and many paltry snow and winter events at best.

Here is the tally for me in Hillsdale NJ

19.5” of my 33” average 57% of the normal average wintry precipitation

Just Northwest in the Willy by PB they had over 30” of white gold, sleet and ice this winter!!

Bring in those plants and delicate flowers, shrubs for it is getting December cold tonight with lows ranging from mid-20’s to 30 for a majority of the area.

The Euro is showing wind chills in the upper teens low 20’s all night into the morning hours. Brrrr for April 8^th and 9^th.

Rainy chilly roller coaster

April showers will bring mayflowers is the saying right? Guess what? The saying will hold true but raw, chilly conditions will be the norm when it rains with even some sleet or wet snow mixed in DOH!!!

Lots of wetness and we need it for our drought situation. Give us two good soaking rainstorms of about 1.5-2” and this drought will be gone.

Next Monday and Tuesday look to be a nice reprieve with temps rebounding into the 60’s

Be well my sisters and brothers and keep the faith. Those of you who are Christians think about this time of year and what it means. What man, father would sacrifice his only son for people who always go against him and his teachings? Heck many wouldn’t sacrifice their pets or belongings for such! Give thanks each and everyday for what you have for it can all be gone in an instant. I don’t mean stocks and belongings, that doesn’t matter one iota, the most precious gift of all – LIFE.
