Ho Ho Ho Merry Xmas!! And it was very merry for this guy right here!! Well besides wonderful gifts from my family – a toy truck, a new baseball glove, a set of flannel pajamas and…………………SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It snowed Xmas eve and Xmas morning – holy jumpin’ junipers!! Yes we had about .35″ of white gold on the ground to whiten up and make this day a true White Christmas – thanks Bing LOL! And those N and W of Bergen county saw 1-4″ as our Xmas day celebration in the hinterland of Sussex County NJ (Sparta) saw 3″!! This is natures LOOOOOONNNGGGGGGGGGGGG awaited Xmas present for me – BBOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYAHHHHHHH!!

White New Years
The last time we had a white new years was……………2010. We will have another this time around as well.
Saturday into Sunday – Smitty postpone the trip back North plans – 2-4″ can be expected from NYC on east – yes you peeps in LI get this one and West of NYC can see 1-3″. This is a high ratio – Uncle Bruce my man can explain (retired Math guru from USR – man is a genius in teaching math, don’t believe me just ask the hundreds of students who he has tutored with the SAT and ACT and improved their scores by over 100 pts in Math!!!) Back to the snow a high ration event like 15, 20:1 with this Arctic air mass.

Ratios of 10:1 on this map but again higher ratios of 15:-20:1 – HELLOOOO UNCLE BRUCEY’s math??
This could trend a bit wetter if the Low pressure or storm pops (goes the weasel) closer to the coast – if so with the warm waters of the Hotlantic it will enhance the snow or precipitation.
ARCTIC-GEDON – FULL FORCE
Okay peeps what I tell ya and this phrase actually Joe Bastardi coined – I give him the credit as I should. He is a phenomenal LR forecaster! So when do we see freezing temperature of 32* may not be around these neck of the woods until next year ahahahahahahaah – I crack myself up!!! Literally after the endish of next week if not the following Monday depending on the storm track next week!

Jan 3-5th time frame – way to help ring in the New Year!!
If this trends about 50-75 miles east then we see a possible repeat of the blizzards of years gone by – i.e. 2016 2010, 2009.
Why? Well as currently modeled we would have a huge front end of snow like up to a foot and then a change over to ice and rain and then back to snow – somewhat of a typical Ninaesque type storm. No clown maps here yet but time will tell, Ahh why not, my Xmas present to you!!! There is a strong signal for this storm at this time but a lot can change by this time next week. Reasons abound.

Relaxation
Well besides on the Xmas vacation the pattern will relax around the Jan 10thish time frame to what extent we don’t know – some are saying warmth like 40’s to upper 40’s/low 50’s range and snap back effect some are saying maybe to the 40* range.
Time will tell but these pattern that go extreme almost always have a snap back, rubber band effect and go the other way. The question is does it reload after this. Indications are still mixed at this time but I am thinking that we shall reload but not to this extreme at this time is my thinking.
