Isaias Update
Isaias is going to miss Fla and make landfall in NC. He had a rough day yesterday as dry air intrusion held him back from strengthening but last night he said I’ll take you dry air and raise you as he then started to strengthen. His track looks to be coming into focus more and it looks to be landfall in Southern NC, then up to DE then just inland thorough NJ – looks to be west of the GSP as it is in NJ and then curve to over NYC. Areas west get the flooding rains and east get teh strongest winds.
It will be a weakish Tropical Storm and maybe even tropical depression as he gets up to the NYC Metro region which is good news for us BUT we are looking at flooding rains and some decent winds.
NNJ NYC Metro: Flooding rains and winds 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40mph
CNJ and SNJ: Tropical Storm conditions with flooding rains and winds 30-40 mph with gusts up to 50/55 mph
Shore will see coastal flooding and beach erosion
CLI to ELI: Heavier winds ranging gusts up to 60MPH with less rain
2 Tropical Storms before September is a record for this area. And we are not even into the prime of the Hcane season.
