I hope you are having a great Friday and ready for the long holiday weekend as we celebrate one of the kinder, gentler men who was taken all to soon. Its gonna be a pretty impactful storm tonight into tomorrow morning peeps with flooding and gusty winds.
Timing: 8PMish start or now for some until about 9AM ish tomorrow morning
Winds: NNJ
15 -20 mph with gusts about 30 -35 mph
Shores 20-30 sustained winds with gusts up to 45-55 mph possible
Flood: River moderate
Coastal: Moderate to Major at the NY (LI) and Jersey Shore…again
2-4′ above tide
12-18′ waves = erosion city!
Rainfall 1.25-2.5″ and heavy overnight

The arctic hounds have been unleashed and are attacking the great CONUS = Continental United State’s = lower 48 states!!

This will go all the way into Mexico and down into Fla as well as the Gulf Coast. I fear many will perish due to these extreme conditions in the likely hood of 35-55 below normal temperatures. Global Boiling at its best….NOT!!!
For us the front arrives Sunday morning and it will come in with a vengeance. An arctic snow squall line that may produce a squall warning for the NNJ Region.
What to expect: The SNOW squall line is similar to a thunderstorm line in the summer, heavy torrential rains and gusty winds and flooding with low visibility.
This will be the same but with snow…aka white gold!
Visibility down to 1/4 mile
Snowfall rates – 1-2″ per hour total snow = .5″ to 1.5″

MLK Storm?
This arctic front will set teh stage for what COULD be a classic East Coast Snowstorm and later in the week a big kahuna snowstorm, the KU storm!!! I’ll explain later about Kocin and Uccellini, 2 famous pro mets, I met Paul Kocin, wrote a book about these rarish type storms. I’ll eave it at that.
If the storm does what it should and ride the thermal gradient in the atmosphere and ocean temperatures which is basically set up by teh arctic front this could be a banger.
