Saturday Storm – Nor’easter?
It seems we may have another cyclone genesis storm taking shape again on a Saturday. The storm comes up from the south and has no cold air in place but as it deepens it will draw down some very cold arctic air that will take the rain and change it over to sleet then snow quickly and winds will be gusting to 40mph Saturday afternoon and night actually through Sunday. Sunday will be cold and blustery. Good day for a Stew, Pasta Faggioli, homemade pasta etc. – you see my Italian bias here??
Saturday morning, we should see the transition from rain to snow sometime around 10AM in the NYC metro region.
Storm totals – NYC Metro is C – 3″, SE Connecticut is in this range
NNJ 2-4″
NW NJ 3-6″
HV – 4-8″
NE PA 4-8″
Was overzealous on totals – had 2.25″ on grass not pavement and it shut down faster than modelled…of course.
Winds verified and up in Hamden where my son AKA Chives – a nickname he gave himself in the 6th grade and has stuck – what was wrong with our family nickname…Mugs???? Dare to different I guess? Up at QU it was a mini blizzard Saturday night and the winds were howling!!
Cold shot hit for sure and once it let up Monday the warm surge came in and it felt like Morch (March Torch) is what we would say in the weather world.

It came, it saw, it conquered and we have had temperature 10-15 degrees above normal. No, not Al Goer and Leonardo’s agenda of making more millions off of the sheeple who follow these two actors who know NOTHING about weather nor climate (not that I am an expert but I have studied and followed it longer, and have done more research than both of those buffoons combined!). It is called weather peeps and we have the roller coaster of March at play

A deep Full Latitude trough at work with an Arctic Oscillation being negative and a NAO being negative as well can spell trouble.
The GFS loves to sniff out these storms in the long range BUT do not take this for a verbatim forecast but that a storm could happen so do not be surprised if it does the end of March 1st week of April – just saying!
