RECORD BEING QUESTOINED?
Oh boy here we go. The record is being questioned in NJ for the state record which was said to be broken. Jefferson township out in far west Morris County, next to Sussex County said to have measured 36.5” by a trained spotter. The National Weather Service has “paused” this and is investigating. Will this be like OJ case? The election? The longer we wait the more snow is going to melt like Frosty in the greenhouse!!! The chief state climatologist Dr. David Robinson said they are along with his team, I did not even know they had one or did this, looking into seeing if the trained spotter followed the guidelines for measuring properly. WTH is that – 36” is 36” as the surrounding area had 34, 35” measurements as well. What record did it break? The Great Arctic Gale of 1899 as I mentioned two days ago.

UPDATE: The Lake Mohawk snow report has been pulled out of contention! Turns out the measurement apparently wasn't done following proper procedures. As of now, the old Cape May snow record still stands strong! #njwx

Friday coater Starts about 8-9AM ends about 11-12am
Coating of snow to up to 1” in NW NJ and NNJ manana – coming in early AM and then out quick. NYC Metro sees rain. From Western Bergen County, All of Rockland – HoHoKus/Saddle River North and West sees coating and the higher you go PB Land, Sussex land they’ll see up to an inch may be a tick or two more.

I remember this well when I told peeps at work what was coming and to book. It was 50 degrees and my co workers were like no way they are calling for showers, I said dont doubt me when I am hot with my calls! And we woke up Monday morning to 6″ of white gold!
Peeps it is coming. Arising as I said the possibility was there on Tuesday when I reported to my weather weenie disciples, yes that’s you!!

Accumulations 3-6” at this time is a safe call but if I go as E Jost said Ball’s to Wall I see 6-10” – yeah no kidding!!!

LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/…
An active wx pattern expected in the Long Term. The first sys is a
coastal low which emerges off of the Carolina Coast around 12Z Sun,
then deepens while tracking east of Cape Cod around 00Z Mon. This
low looks like a classic 4-8 inch snow maker, with amounts dependent
on the track. Right now, all of the modeling, except for the NAM,
are too far east to place these higher amounts across the cwa. There
is enough consensus however to increase snow chances to around 50
percent, and to introduce accums of up to 2 inches. A wwd trend
closer to the NAM will require an increase in amounts.

Thermals ALEET! BITTER COLD!
YOU better get out your thermals because with a snow pack we are going to see some very cold temperatures look below. This will last through until later February it seems due to the splitting of the Polar Vortex late in January. These usually last 4-6 weeks at times ala 2009-10, 2010-11.
