Mon Storm Recap
The storm Monday stayed more South than modelled by the world renowned EURO adn GFS global models but not but the short range HRRR or NAM models. The snow totals were further south of the 6″ than originally thought by about about 10 miles but good call overall and SNJ got slammed with a foot in some spots.
Northern Virginia got slammed by the storm as did Tennessee and North Carolina mountains.

Wednesday Morning
Ice Ice Baby – from 5/6 AM until about 10/11AM
Light Freeing Rain and drizzle will be over the area for the morning rush hour. It will be a rough commute and I can see many delayed openings and closings possible by schools.
This is at 6AM tomorrow morning.
Thursday Night/Friday Morning Snow
I wrote about this in my last blog and it looks to be a 2-4″ event over NENJ, less as you go west -1-3″ and NY Metro is 2-4″ as well.
The storm has 60 hours before we start and needs a few more tweaks with the confluence over New England, and the ridge out over the North West. IF we can sharpen up the ridge out west then we can get teh storm to dig more and climb teh coast more and be a deeper more moisture laden storm. SO for now a 1-3″/2-4″ type of storm is on the table.
It will start late around 11PM Thursday and rend around 9/10AM Friday. Quick moving storm for sure and time will tell.
It may cause delayed opening and maybe a closing or two.
Here is the EURO. darker shades of green are heavier snows, lighter are light snows.
NAM says hello – hope its right!
NWS in Upton’s first guess. Fair for now.
This woudl close schools for sure since the timing is very good and the accumulations are good too.

I am not seeing this, sorry! Again I hope they are right too.
