Peeps,
Well here we are in the middle of the month of May and we are 6-7 degrees above normal for this month and not a spec of rain to talk about or fall from the sky for that matter so far. We have a streak of 24 days without a measurable rainfall (that being more than 1/10th .01) and the drought talk has begun and we are in the beginning stages. Heading towards the longest day of the year for us here in NNJ on June 21st so get out and enjoy the sunshine.
Gorgeous spring weather in my book these last couple of days with lows in the 40′ (see I told you!) and highs in the upper 60’s to low/mid 70’s). That is the pattern from the looks of it going forward says the global models (no not Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum or Kate Moss – hot , hotter and hottest? ) with a day or two of 80’s in there – Sunday looks to be a day of mid 80’s and Monday possibly as well oh and dry!!
The weekend looks to be menza a menza as they say in Italiano! Saturday morning maybe a shower or two, mid day should be dry and then in the afternoon around 3ish until about 8ish we can see some persistent showers and the chances for after thunder boomers. This is what the NAM is saying and the GFS agrees -how about this two american governments agencies agreeing!!!!!!!!! But then again we could remain dry since this is a frontal passage not a storm.
I think the t-storms will be more to our west and what is called the Cape Values indicate this – the measure the instability in the atmosphere.
Next week we should see some of the same weather as we have seen these past couple/few days with temps in the upper 60’s to low/mid 70s and temps at night falling into the 40’s – colder as you move away from the urban heat island – 30’s in these areas.
As I eluded to in my last post Memorial Day weekend looks to be well you may have to break out the DEPENDS -hahahaha!! Wet – you get it ? If not ask an old person like Jamie who wears these to bed like a two year old except he ain’t two, more like ……………….I love that one, Depends!
Looks to be rainy from the 23rd ish to the 27ish, models (not the ones I just listed above either!) showing a showers and rain after this long dry spell – I know it is a week away but putting you all on alert in case of the bbcue – have plan b ready – indoors.
Nino looks to be heating up too – the water off Australia have cooled and they are an indicator to this weather phenomena as well as region 3.4 heating up to have a nino climate. may not be a super nino, heck, they were calling for a moderate nino this past fall and winter and we did not even come close.
Have a great weekend and I’ll keep ya’ll posted on the holiday weekend.
