On this 1st Saturday of the month, new year and decade – the mighty trifecta – it is just miserable weather for January – foggy, 45 and rainy – cant draw this up any more miserable than the torch from Godzilla El Nino in 2016!

Well the time of sunlight will increase by 45 minutes so it won’t be dark at 4:40 as we move to teh end of this month!!

Fizzle but Window of White
The Saturday/Sunday storm teh EURO was showing has gone caputskies and it did the wildest turnabout in back to back model runs which happen every 6 hours like teh tides of our oceans!! HOLY SNKIES!! WE went from a possible 2-4″ plus storm to nada, zilch, nyet all means NOTHING!! BUT we have two windows of white with a clipper system Sunday night into Monday which can bring some snow to the NY/NJ border and north areas that could lead to a dusting to 1/2″.

Amount: Dusting to 1/2″/1″ (more likey this amount as you go North)
Where: NJ/NY border and North to Albany
Tuesday time frame as I have stated all along due to the planetary alignment with Jupiter and Earth’s perigees. Last time was 1994 MLK storm, not staying this will happen again for those who recall we went from a driving rainstorm to an ice storm to a snow storm in about 3 hours!
GFS and EURO both have a light snow storm weak albeit but enough to whiten the ground at this time.
Could it fizzle out – possibly due to the progressive (no not the insurance company!) flow in teh atmosphere meaning it is fast like dash from the Incredibles
Could it strengthen, possibly if it can dig more as a storm like the Roman Gladiators in battle!

Very sad situation from extreme weather conditions down under and terrible land management besides man setting 90% of these as reported.
Dark Black Circled Region over the warm/orangy water off NW Aussie Land is going to promote thunderstorm activity which will then promote the MJO cycle going into teh warm phase of 4 and 5. This means a SE Ridge and warm east coast temps like spring 50’s and even low to mid 60’s on some days arggghhhhh!!
Time frame from next weekend through the end of the following weekend – 12thish thorugh the 19thish.

It is climate variability and has happened for tens/hundreds of millions of years on our planet and will continue to do so. Did you know they found a forest of confers on Iceland recently under 100′ of snow and ice?? SO what, this means at one time this area way up near he arctic circle was…………warm – much warmer than today = climate variability!
Finally
THE WMO = World Meteorological Organization has put out a directive and has FINALLY stated that the sun does indeed have a affect on our pattern driven climate and is to be calculated into teh newer climate model variability forecasting systems that should be available by……………..2022 at he earliest which means 2024!!! This is stark and 180 about face from last decade adn they will finally include cosmic rays influences from teh sun into their computer modelling systems. Now will t be right, who knows but at least it is a step in teh right direction!!
The SUN has controlled our universe and our planet for billions of years, an x level flare from it would destroy our electric grid and world as we know it, it happened before in 1859 called teh Carrington Event and will again. A micro Nova woudl be worse and would devastate, obliterate which part of the planet is facing the sun when it ejects this massive ball of heat, neutrons and electromagnetic particles.
