IDA crushed eh NOLA and La region with over 1 million without power and the transmission lines in NOLA have ben damaged which means that it will be weeks before they can restore power for many.
The flooding in some areas was immense – Laplace had a 14′ storm surge that inundated the city of 30k and left many stranded on tehir roofs and in their attics. Some tweets from this night.

Three levees yes 3 were toppled by flooding waters. None gave way which was a huge relief. The angle and speed of which the hcane made landfall spared these from being toppled since it was moving N NE which swirled teh waters around where if it were Katrina – which was to the day exactly – came in from the NW direction and slammed the water at a perpendicular to teh city. BIG difference.
For us – WE NEED NOAH!!
AN ark will be necessary for tomorrow night through Thursday evening!
Rain fall Amount – 4-6″ maybe 7″ plus for most of NNJ, NWNJ, LHV, CNJ
Timing – starts Wednesday midday and then all hell breaks loose Wednesday night through Thursday morning later morning.

Winds – 15-20 mph with gusts as high as 35mph is possible
