Peeps,
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads.
I hope you all had a great day. Here is some interesting tidbits of info: George Washington is said to not have had any Biological Children with Martha but with others is a different story. You know the phrase “George Washington slept here” it is said that he sent all the men out off the premise and required all the woman and young ladies to stay – not just for dinner but for dessert as well.
Dads spent 3x as much time with tehir kids as the dads did in 1989.
lastly, Fathers Day was not a recognized national day/holiday until 1972 when President Nixon signed this proclamation!! It was actually started by a wife in Spokane, Washington in 1910 and it was not a big deal until the late 60’s (1967) when Macy’s started advertising sales for fathers day – buy a tie for dad was the sale slogan!! It was not about recognizing dad it was about selling merchandise and making money – teh American Way isn’t it???

Indiana’s Crops
Here are some U.S. Department of Agriculture figures about Ohio, which hasn’t even taken the brunt of the nation’s flooding: ■ As of June 2 only 33 percent of Ohio’s corn acreage and 18 percent of the state’s soybean acreage had been planted. ■ By this time of year, at least 90 percent of corn should have been planted, and 79 percent of soybeans should have been planted. And that’s based only on the most recent five-year average. Years ago plantings were made much earlier in the spring.
