When it comes to snow storms like this my weather weenie friends who’s is your go to guy?? HMMMMM…………………………This guy right here.
Morning models and 12Z are coming in stronger and wetter, more precipitation and they handle the convection much better than the globals (euro, gfs). As I write I was blown away by the NAM suite models – they are showing a 980 MB pressure storm going over the bench mark (70/40 – Kuz you teach geography so you can explain HAHAHAHA!) it is a mark over the ocean off the coast that if a storm hit that gulf Stream area it goes………………………………………..BOOOOOOOMMM! The deeper the pressure of the storm the stronger and the more precipitation it will suck up from the Atlantic and throw back over us.
1-1.25″ of liquid = at 10:1 ratios 12 – 16″ of snow !!!!!
AS we say on our weather sites – WOOOOF WOOOOF! This bad boy is coming in a MECS area wide . He is angry – HAHAAHAH!!
I called 12-16” for the NNJ, NYC Metro and LI areas – CHA CHNIG!!!
They (NWS and TV Mets) say 6-10” – watch them up it tonight.

Here is my newest thought – IF we can get this bad boy to go till 4-5PM and with the intense snowfall rates and if we can pull a foot plus up here (say 14”), – they may have to stop plowing and cleaning at since they are 8 hours paid workers – come in at 7am leave by 4 pm, to get the property ready for school Friday may be tough. This may in fact cause a delayed for Friday?? Just a thought. But a really frickin good one at that.
