Peeeeeeepppppsssssss,
It has been a while since I last wrote, July 9th was my last post to be exact. Speaking of exact, I hate to be the bearer of such news today peeps BUT (everyone has one, they are all different sizes shapes, and colors (I remember my kids eating as babies and the first foods (colors) they ate were sweet potatoes, carrots (orange colors) – you guessed it their little coolies were orange LOL!!!)
Anyway my point is we are smack dab in the middle of the apex of the Peak Summer Temperature and it is all downhill from here. And yes the days are starting to show signs of longer shadows and nights (arrghh!!)
Double H
Well, double H stands for (no not Morgana ) the kissing bandit from the 1980’s and 90’s!) but for the heat and humidity we have experienced. More so the humidity and why you ask when I said that we would break on the 12th and no foreseeable heat wave in the future? That is a great question and Big Mamma must have read my post and said ok Al Q you don’t control me or my chillin’s Sweaty or Frosty (Heat Miser and Snowmiser). The Bermuda expanded and consumed us. Crazy as this sounds but areas about 150 miles NW of here did not experience the 90 degree plus temperatures we had and even today they are low in humidity. SO what occurred in a nut shell the Bermuda High out muscled the trough in the and pushed it up and away.
Relief
Yes, the humidity is waning as I write and look at next week departures from normal for next week WOWZA!!Looking ahead it seems as if we will be a roller coaster of sorts with some hot days but a majority of warm days. Maybe a day or two like we experienced but I think August will be more like June. September on the other hand could be more like July why again you ask? Boy you ask a lot of questions – are you writing a book or sumtin’?? If so I am not going to be strong armed by you!
MON HIGH TEMPS
WED HIGH TEMPS
THURS HIGH TEMPS
Tropics
We are done with Don peeps and it is all quiet for now until early August due to two major overwhelming aspects: SH and BH. SH = Saharan Dust and BH = a large Bermuda High Pressure system covering the Hotlantic. BUT the Hotlantic and Caribbean along with the Gulf of Mehico will be awaiting any newcomers – the Seas Surface Temperature are running above normal. Lastly, the westerly winds will be subsiding from the Pacific which will also allow for anything to mitigate in these fore said regions to develop. East coast will be interesting come later August through September.
BH = Bermuda High
SH see all the oranges and reds off the African coast – that will not allow any development
August – the black box shows there is potential for development
JMA: Pulses of enhanced convection across the Atlantic are probable during August- those with tropical interests should monitor closely. pic.twitter.com/vlTxDWAfAy

Solar Eclipse
Aug 21st peeps is the day we even up here will experience this. The narrow strip from Oregon to South Carolina will experience a 2.5-hour eclipse where the moon blocks the sun. We will see this effects for about 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Don’t look directly at the sun for you shall not be able to see after doing so possibly permanently!!!! From what is being said!
It will begin at about 1:23pm and last until about 2:44pm which is the peak of the eclipse and will last until 4pm. At 2:44pm is when we have 77% of the sun covered.
