Well as I looked out window at 5:45 this morning and watched the snowfall in moderate variation i was waiting for the message via text or the copper wire – home phone to hear the message(s) every school teacher and student loves to hear 1. No School and 2. Delayed Opening 3. Early Dismissal basically in that order BUT not tis morning!! Got Skunked.The measurements were as follows and I basically nailed it:

The part that perturbs me is many schools in NNJ, LI and LHV called for delays – hey what is 90 minutes out of 183 days of about 65,880 minutes a school year (=.00137% of the total time percentage wise – it doesn’t scratch the surface of time spent in school). I know preaching to the choir here (maybe some of you don’t agree this is your choice and right of course) but anyway the NWS out of Upton which cover LI, NYC and Hudson, Essex, Passaic and Bergen Counties did not put any of these counties in a WWA (winter weather advisory) level which would have given a bit more credence to this storm – albeit a light accumulation but I have to say some towns did a great job and some poor on their roads.

What is map of ?? Our next snowstorm three in a row basically here peeps since last Saturday – what you’re seeing is the jump that models are making which equals the NW trend with storms as of late and if we get another 50 mile tick, jump NW then we’ll see another snow storm right now it is a 1-3″/2-4″ type storm at present from NYC and SOuth and out to the new snow capitol LI!!. Need that LP over the GL to head up more North or slow down so this can come up the coast more and give us some real goods. NNJ is about a coating BUT a 50 mile jump NW and we go to 2-4″.
Timing tomorrow night’s into early Saturday AM.
Xmas time frame
Eve and Day we are looking at the possibility of a storm but it will be cold very cold again this time frame through to the end of the year.
This will correct more south and bring us what could be a formidable storm.
