Peeps,
Wow Tuesday and Wednesday were amazing!
64* on Tuesday and 80* well 79.7* on Wednesday (* = degrees).
Now today it will rain as we approach this evening through tomorrow morning and may linger most of tomorrow – yuck!
BUT we clear things out and coming or as we say in the meteorological world retrograding from the European continent is a massive block called the Greenland Block or NAO – North Atlantic Oscillation that will go insanely Negative. Europe and Asia are in the freezer right now and will be for some time due to the Polar Vortex just getting obliterated by the easterly winds way up in the atmosphere due to low solar.
What does low solar mean? It means that sun spots and these coronal mass ejections called CME’s are low in numbers for activity. Now we are in solar cycle 24, at the end of this cycle and heading into cycle 25 and 26. each cycle is 11 years in length. This research dates back 206 years by scientist who founded this sometime ago. Who was the first person to see sun spots? Anyone?
Hmm who is this old coot wearing knee-high 1970’s fashion socks you ask? Simo still wears these LOL!!
Ah yes Galileo!! Incredible.
Anyway, back to the weather – it is controlled in large part by not man but the sun and the terrestrial happenings – planetary alignments, gravitational waves etc.
History upcoming
I said last week and before this that the beginning of March will
ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!
It might just be a historical time frame from March 1stish through the 12thish with multiple Nor’easters/Coastal storms that may dump prolific, copious, mega amounts of snow on our region. Details need to be worked out. One thing is for sure is that we will have a full moon with astronomical high tides during the 1st week which will mean bad things for the coasts f these systems/storms do come to fruition and batter us. We are talking heavy wet snow – paste job snows as well call them with winds and coastal flooding – the scenario is fun but not good in the same respect. Laura R I told you last week about this and you damned me – Big Momma is a listening and you don’t do that to one of her favorite weather weenie sons!!
See what I tell ya.
Maps please – and do not take these verbatim but as I told my period 8 RWE class who I love to teach – a great group of kids and their parents are to be commended as should be their previous teachers – we may be measuring in feet not inches by the second week of March!!
First Storm March 1-2nd – lots of sleet with this too!
From 33&rain wxboard
WOWZA!!!!!!!!!
Storm One and two Second being March 5thish time frame
Also, we had VEI 4 eruption in Indonesia this week. VEI =volcanic eruption index from 1-8 (8 being Vesuvius, Krakatoa) which as we are entering low solar we are seeing the seismic activity increase. I will be doing a write-up that I will share in the coming weeks on this topic from a great book and outside research and discussions I am having with some very intelligent people in his field. Thank you to Guerci for his input and giving me this fascinating book to read. What effects will have on our weather – Summer and possible Fall effects may occur by cooler temps depending on various atmospheric variables.

So stay tuned and bet on the side of what could be and I stress could be prolific, historical storms and time frame the first 10-12 days of March.
Updates to come.
